Positions and Issues Statement
Abraham Lincoln said "sometimes it is better to say nothing and let them think you the fool rather than speak and leave no doubt".
I am quite open regarding my political positions. I often describe myself as being "one or two clicks right of center" with many years of negotiating experience both nationally and internationally. But, my personal positions bear little or no relation to the "Objective" position required in public life.
I have not and will not accept campaign contributions from any PAC whether liberal or conservative; I simply run on who I am and cannot allow myself to be "owing" anyone. I know who I am, I present myself as honestly as I can, and no statements anywhere will be "skewed" to try to fit any audience. I will represent all of the people to the best of my ability, all of the time.
In no special order, based on questions people have asked me:
Education:
Local control is essential; the federal government has no business mandating anything at our local level. Also support home schooling & charter schools. Grandchildren are being home schooled in North Carolina and they are performing well above public school "norms".Fiscal & Social Conservative:
Believe in small Government, reduced spending & tax cuts. No broad based taxes. Will help repeal as many of the new fees and taxes as possible.Second Amendment:
Fully support 2nd Amendment of the US Constitution as well as Article 2a of the State of NH Constitution and will aggressively uphold both.Veterans Healthcare:
Favor qualified veterans being able to receive care, especially for combat related injury, at participating local providers rather than centralized VA providers.Parental Notification:
In favor of parental notification from kindergarten through high school.(12th grade). State should have no control over decisions involving our children’s health.Individual Liberties:
"[Art.] 3. [Society, its Organization and Purposes.] When men enter into a state of society, they surrender up some of their natural rights to that society, in order to ensure the protection of others; and, without such an equivalent, the surrender is void. June 2, 1784" (NH Constitution); Common Sense. Couldn't say it any clearer than those who wrote the constitution.US and State of NH Constitutions:
Will work to fully uphold Constitution of the United States and New Hampshire. The link below to the US Constitution is the government web site with some relevent court decisions. The New Hampshire Constitution
The Online US Constitution
Small Business:
Small business is the heart of our state's economy... we must encourage small business growth. New Hampshire has added taxes to business to a point that we have higher taxes on business than even Massachusetts. Review all taxes and programs that are detrimental to small business such as the LLC tax, business profits tax, business enterprise tax, workman’s compensation laws, unemployment compensation laws, gas tax, rooms & meals tax, campground rooms & meals tax to see what can be repealed or reduced. If you are a Raymond voter and have questions or differing opinions, please use the "Contact" form to email me. I will answer personally and post the questions on this page.

Energy:
A proponent of nuclear power who has experience working in the industry. Will advocate for energy independence, in our State, by promoting geo thermal energy as well as other renewable energy sources such as clean burning biomass wood burning plants.
Healthcare:
Statewide tort reform is required. Not a proponent of "ObamaCare". Also support allowing healthy young people to purchase catastrophic health insurance.
States’ Rights & State Sovereignty:
Fully support the 10th amendment. Push back at Federal Government on all issues consided to be unconstitutional, Nationalized healthcare being an example of substantial imposition of the Federal Government on the States. The 10th ammendment is included in the link below.
US Constitution, 10th Ammendment
Gambling:
Support limited Casino type gambling. Believe the examples of Pennsylvania, Illinois, Minnesotta, and several other states proves that the jobs generated exceeds the revenue benefits and there is "in real life" minimal negative impact on the community if legislated properly.
